Officer Tippit Memorial - On November 22, 1963 Officer Tippit pulled up to the curb and rolled down the passenger side window to speak to a man walking on the sidewalk. As officer Tippit was getting out of his squad car the man, later identified as Lee Harvey Oswald pulled a gun and shot Tippit 3 times. Oswald then walked around the car and shot Tippit once more. There was one eye witness to the shooting and 5 people who saw Oswald walking away reloading his gun. Oswald was originally arrested for the murder of Officer Tippit.
