Muncey Massacre – The story of the Muncey Massacre has probably been retold a thousand times by early frontier mothers as a means to keep their children close to home. In 1843, the Muncey family was part of the first wave of settlers in the area now called Plano. Jameson, his wife and their small child were found dead next to a spring where they were building their cabin. Their two older boys were never found. The killing was reported as an Indian attack.
